 "They're making me nuts" 2010-06-23
By maestro (On top of a house in New Orleans with my laptop)
We had some of these in the house. They don't tear evenly at the perforations. Nothing to make we waste a bunch of paper towels (contrary to the point of conserving) than getting 1/2 ripped off sheets. Plus paper is a renewable resource -- there's really not much point in conserving it since it grows back. If you look at the data (which I know just isn't as human as feeling something and going with it, which is why people vote for the worst kind of imbecile and will continue to do so) one net effect of paper recycling is that the forests that were used for growing paper no longer become profitable and are sold by the paper companies to real estate developers who then put up lousy "developments" and "McMansions."

Bottom line pay attention to the facts and don't buy these paper towels.

"Gets the job done without killing trees" 2010-06-01
By S. Waters
These get the job done just great for me, and with subscribe and save they are significantly cheaper than buying from anywhere else. Also, I love the mission of Seventh Generation and the fact that they create quality products that have less impact on the environment.

As the top reviewer said, be prepared to stash these somewhere, 30 rolls is more than you think. When I lived in an apartment I had to stash them under my bed because I didn't have room anywhere else. That said, it's quite nice to always have paper towels on hand since one box of these things lasts me a year. I think if I didn't have pets they would last even longer.

 "Green over style" 2010-05-12
By Allen Lilleberg (Napa, California, USA)
Brown paper towels? Of course, non bleached paper is a start in the right direction. Nonchlorine bleached or decolorized paper is just a vanity product. I have some questions though. What about newsprint? US Army medical films used to recommend new newsprint as a sterile drape when conventional materials were not available. Now that the harsh printing inks are gone, how sterile is new newsprint? And, along that regard how can newsprint be treated as to enhance its absorptive capacity?

"Worst paper towels I have ever used" 2010-03-01
By Picky Mom (Providence, RI)
We try to use "green" products, particularly non-bleached, as much as possible. I love many other 7th Generation products & had high hopes for these. They are the worst. I have to use 4x the amount of normal paper towels because they are not very absorbent. I joked with my husband that tree bark would be better. I finally got through the case I foolishly ordered and will never use these again. I'm hoping to find another, better green alternative.

 "LOve these paper towels" 2010-02-07
By BanditoJose (Warwick, RI)
I've been using these paper towels for YEARS....I LOVE purchasing them through amazon because they come in a simple to break down cardboard box with no other frills...no other packing except the individually wrapped paper towels and the box....love it. I use them in my office building now instead of running out to BJs every 3 months....saves time and saves money AND saves resources simply by using these paper towels as opposed to some cheapo non-env friendly brand. The next best thing to only using hand towels =)
